Get Machine Name is a simple Excel™ external code resource designed to return the name, of the type of CPU it is running on, such as "Macintosh Quadra 700". It simply calls the Gestalt Manager and extracts the name string from a STR resource in the system file. I don't see any point in going any farther, i was bored when i did this, for anyone who is interested in writing xfnc's for Excel™ i would suggest getting the tech notes from a pal or try to get them from MicroSoft.  By the way, for the Excel Developer program, it's totally junk, you basically pay big coin for  two small manuels, which you need, but otherwise it's a waste.
